The Sea Ice Prediction Network-SOUTH (SIPN-South) project has collected seasonal forecasts of Antarctic sea ice aligned with the Year Of Polar Prediction Special Observing Period (austral summer 2018-2019).  A post-season analysis of these forecasts can be read in the document ' Assessment of summer 2018- 2019 sea-ice forecast for the Southern Ocean

The International Glaciology Society (IGS),Sea Ice Symposium will be held on 19-23 August, 2019, Winnipeg, Canada. 

The 13th session of the CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel (SORP) was held on 14-15 June 2018 in Davos, Switzerland. 

The 12th session of the CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel (SORP) was held on 29-30 June 2017 at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Foothills campus in Boulder, Colorado, USA.

On May 15th 2017, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) officially launches the Year of Polar Prediction in Geneva, Switzerland.
