A workshop on ‘Building an international Transparent Ocean Community’ was organised by the Pilot Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology, in Qingdao, China on 19th January 2020.

The POGO-21 was held in January 20-22, 2020 in Qingdao. ICPO staff were invited to attend the open meeting. Over 100 participants were present at the event, including 48 POGO members and representatives from other partner institutes.

On 5-6 September 2019, the ICPO staff participated East Asia Marine Environment Cooperation Forum and Workshop on UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable development, sponsored by Qingdao Municipal People’s Government and IOC Sub-Commission for the Western Pacific (IOC-WESTPAC). 

The International CLIVAR Project Office (ICPO) is seeking for applicants to the Administrative Assistant position. Application is now open until 27 September 2019.

4 Chinese ocean scientists tragically passed away on 21st April 2019 during the Kingsbury Colombo Hotel explosion in Sri Lanka, while waiting to participate in the 'Joint Voyaging on East Indian Ocean’ which was initiated by SCSIO.
