The 101st Annual Meeting of the American Meteorological Society will take place in New Orleans, Luisiana from 10 to 14 January, 2021. In this webpage are sessions relevant to the CLIVAR community.

The draft of the Tropical Atlantic Observing System (TAOS) Review Report is now available and ready for review. We are expecting that experts and stakeholders will be willing to review and critically assess the draft to provide guidance on how it should be adjusted and improved. 

The 2020 AGU Fall Meeting is going to be held on 7-11 December in San Francisco, USA. In preparation for the meeting, we have compiled a list of sessions that are relevant to the community and convened by CLIVAR Panels, Research Foci and community members.

WCRP is calling for (self-)nominations for membership of the WCRP Joint Scientific Committee (JSC), for a four-year term from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2024. The deadline for nominations is 15 July 2020.

The monthly telecon for WCRP Joint Planning Staff and International Project Offices (IPOs) was organised on 27 May 2020, chaired by ICPO. Jose Santos, Rupa Kumar Kolli, Jing Li and Liping Yin from ICPO participated in the telecon. 

Report on the US CLIVAR and International CLIVAR workshop, Ocean Mesoscale Eddy Interactions with the Atmosphere has been published online.

A telecon between US CLIVAR and the CLIVAR Atlantic Region Panel (ARP) has been organised on May 7, 2020, in order to discuss the future cooperation and integration of the US AMOC Science Team with International CLIVAR. 

The 3rd Summer School on Theory, Mechanisms and Hierarchical Modeling of Climate Dynamics: Tropical Oceans, ENSO and their Teleconnections, scheduled from 3-14 August 2020, in Trieste, Italy, will be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemics. 

We regret to announce that the CLIVAR-FIO Summer School on ‘Ocean Macroturbulence and Its Role in Earth’s Climate’, scheduled to take place in Qingdao, China, from 6-11 July 2020, will be postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The WCRP Grand Challenge on Regional Sea Level Change and Coastal Impacts is now coordinating a specific research topic on ‘Climate Services for Adaptation to Sea-Level Rise’ in Frontiers in Marine Science.
