On 30th September, CLIVAR held a teleconference to discuss the ongoing WCRP Implementation Plan and how CLIVAR as a community should respond and provide feedback.
Upon invitation by the Executive Secretary of the North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES), CLIVAR joined the PICES-2020 Annual Meeting (virtual) as an observer. The theme of the meeting is “How does 30 years of research on changing North Pacific ecosystems inform the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?”.
CLIVAR participated in the Physical Oceanography and Climate (POC) Committee meetings, which was organized on September 28-29, 2020, and exchanged the opinions about future collaboration between PICES and CLIVAR.
The call for nominations to CLIVAR panels is now open, with appointment starting in January 2021. Nominations can be submitted online via the nomination form, deadline for the submissions is 23rd October, 2020. The draft of the Tropical Atlantic Observing System (TAOS) Review Report is now available and ready for review. We are expecting that experts and stakeholders will be willing to review and critically assess the draft to provide guidance on how it should be adjusted and improved.
