A blog has been written by one of 2018 ENSO Conference participants, Michelle L’Heureux (NOAA Climate Prediction Center), who has made an oral presentation in Session 4 of the conference. 

CLIVAR (through the Pacific Region Panel and the ENSO Research Foci) and the Centro Internacional para la Investigación del Fenómeno de El Niño (CIIFEN), successfully organised the IV International Conference on El Niño Southern Oscillation: ENSO in a warmer Climate (ENSO2018).

The ICTP-CLIVAR Summer School on “Eastern Boundary Upwelling Systems: Assessing and understanding their changes and predicting their future” will take place from 15 to 21 July 2019 in Trieste, Italy.

The 6th Argo Science Workshop (ASW-6) is organized to prepare for Oceanbs’19 by providing an opportunity to share ideas presented in the Argo White Paper among the Argo community and to connect them to other observing networks and user communities including research/operational and other application areas.

This second-generation CLIVAR Science Plan builds on the important legacy of CLIVAR emerging since its inception in 1992 and redirects the CLIVAR goals and priorities for the coming decade after consultation with scientists and stakeholders throughout the climate community. 

The First CLIVAR- FIO summer school on “Past, Present and Future Sea Level Changes” was held at Qingdao, China from June 25 to June 30, 2018. 38 trainees from 25 countries attended the course.

43 students from 29 countries were finally selected as trainees for the CLIVAR-FIO summer School in 2018. We congratulate all selected participants for this achievement and we look forward to fruitful interaction in the coming Summer course.
