The call for nominations to the CLIVAR panels and Scientific Steering Group (SSG) is now open, with appointment starting in January 2024 and January 2025 respectively. Deadline for the submission is 14 October 2023.

Application to this Summer School is now open (https://e-applications.ictp.it/applicant/login/3857). The deadline is 1 April 2023. Applicants should submit a 'Research Abstract' (<1 page) highlighting their recent relevant research.

The CLIVAR Exchanges special issue on Tropical Atlantic Ocean Observing System (TAOS) is now published online (doi: 10.36071/clivar.82.2022). 

The American Geophysical Union (AGU) has elected fifty-four individuals to the 2022 Class of Fellows. Dr Wenju Cai, co-chair of the CLIVAR Scientific Steering Group (SSG), is included in this prestigious group.

These AGU Fellows have earned this recognition because of remarkable innovation and/or sustained scientific impact. In addition, each Fellow embodies AGU’s values by fostering equity, integrity, diversity, and open science; by mentoring; through public engagement; and in their communications.

Applications are invited for groups within, or linked to CLIVAR communities across the globe to propose “Research Foci” (RF) Studies

The CLIVAR-GOOS-ICTP Workshop: “From global to coastal: Cultivating new solutions and partnerships for an enhanced Ocean Observing System in a decade of accelerating change” has been recently endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade as a Decade Activity.

CLIVAR participated in the 43rd Meeting of the WCRP’s Joint Steering Committee (JSC-43), organized virtually from 27 - 30 June 2022. The meeting aimed to assess the progress made by the core projects and lighthouse activities (LHA) towards WCRP's goals and the ambitions and plans for the future of WCRP.
