31st Session of the CLIVAR Scientific Steering Group

The 31st Session of the CLIVAR Scientific Steering Group will be held online on 30 March and 2 April 2026. The meeting will bring together members of the CLIVAR Scientific Steering Group (SSG), co-chairs of the CLIVAR Panels and Research Foci, and WCRP Secretariat to review progress, identify opportunities for enhanced collaboration, and develop strategies to achieve CLIVAR’s objectives.

This meeting is by invitation only.

Wenju Cai Elected as 2022 AGU Fellow

The American Geophysical Union (AGU) has elected fifty-four individuals to the 2022 Class of Fellows. Dr Wenju Cai, co-chair of the CLIVAR Scientific Steering Group (SSG), is included in this prestigious group.

These AGU Fellows have earned this recognition because of remarkable innovation and/or sustained scientific impact. In addition, each Fellow embodies AGU’s values by fostering equity, integrity, diversity, and open science; by mentoring; through public engagement; and in their communications.

CLIVAR attended WCRP JSC-43

CLIVAR participated in the 43rd Meeting of the WCRP’s Joint Steering Committee (JSC-43), organized virtually from 27 - 30 June 2022. The meeting aimed to assess the progress made by the core projects and lighthouse activities (LHA) towards WCRP's goals and the ambitions and plans for the future of WCRP.
