From December 16th to 17th, Jose Santos and Jing Li were invited to participate in the First Healthy Ocean Innovation and Development Conference, in Huangdao. Jose briefly introduced CLIVAR by highlighting planetary heat balance and ocean heat storage; ocean observations and ocean modelling for healthy ocean development.
The 1st Session of CLIVAR/CliC Northern Ocean Region Panel (NORP-1) will be held in conjunction with Polar2018 as a side meeting before the main event.

The 23rd session of the CLIVAR Scientific Steering Group (SSG) was held on November 27-30, 2017 in Pune, India, hosted by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology where the International CLIVAR Monsoon Project Office is based.
