Recently, the Sea Ice Prediction Network-SOUTH (SIPN-South) project has collected seasonal forecasts of Antarctic sea ice aligned with the Year Of Polar Prediction Special Observing Period (austral summer 2018-2019).

The 1st session of the CLIVAR/CliC Northern Ocean Region Panel (NORP) was held on 15-16 June 2018 in Davos, Switzerland.
At the just concluded 23rd session of the CLIVAR SSG meeting in Pune, India in November 2017, the proposal of the CLIVAR/CliC Northern Oceans Region Panel (NORP) membership was approved, which marks the official establishment of the CLIVAR/CliC Northern Oceans Region Panel. The NORP is co-chaired by Drs Amy Solomon and John Fyfe.
The 1st Session of CLIVAR/CliC Northern Ocean Region Panel (NORP-1) will be held in conjunction with Polar2018 as a side meeting before the main event.
