The CLIVAR/GEWEX Monsoons Panel organized the Special Issue "Global and Regional Monsoons: State of the Art and Perspectives" in Advances in Atmospheric Sciences. The Special Issue features a collection of review and research articles on global and regional monsoon systems, addressing topics such as monsoon dynamics and variability, prediction and predictability, climate change impacts, climate model evaluation, regional monsoon processes, and emerging research directions. It provides an up-to-date synthesis of current scientific understanding while identifying priorities for future monsoon research.
