The 'International Workshop for Mid-latitude Air-Sea Interaction: Advancing Predictive Understanding of Regional Climate Variability and Change across Timescales' will take place in June 2021.
The CLIVAR Climate Dynamics Panel had its regular teleconference on 14th October 2020. Main tasks of the telecon were to discuss the annual report and the WCRP new structure.
The CLIVAR Climate Dynamics Panel (CDP) held a teleconference on 197h July 2020. The CDP co-chairs, Shoshiro Minobe and Noel Keenlyside chaired this meeting.
The CLIVAR Climate Dynamics Panel (CDP) held a teleconference on 19th June 2020.
Prof. Shaw’s research focuses on the physics of the atmosphere and climate system past, present and future. She seeks to understand the underlying mechanisms controlling the response to climate changes so that we can have greater confidence in climate predictions. Her approach combines theory (primarily conservation laws), numerical modeling across a hierarchy of complexity and observational data analysis. A recent focus has been confronting climate change predictions from physics-based models with real world signals in order to advance basic understanding.
