Dr. Antonietta Capotondi received the AGU Harald Svedrup Lecture 2024  

The co-chair of CLIVAR Marine Heatwaves in the Global Ocean Research Focus, Antonietta Capotondi is the 2024 recipient for the Harald Sverdrup Lecture at AGU. She presented a talk: "Understanding Tropical Pacific Decadal Variability in the Presence of Anthropogenic Climate Change” at the AGU Annual Meeting in Washington D.C. She had the opportunity to talk about some of the outcomes of the review paper prepared by the Pacific Region Panel "Tropical Pacific Decadal Variability" working group. The award was introduced by Janet Sprintall, co-chair of the Indian Ocean Panel and President-elect of the AGU Ocean Sciences section, which in Antonietta's words,  made the occasion particularly special. Congratulations on this recognition for her outstanding contribution to oceanographic research.
