CLIVAR EBUS RF had its 3rd Meeting in Washington DC
The Third Meeting of CLIVAR Eastern Boundary Upwelling System (EBUS) Research Foci was hosted by US CLIVAR on 9 December 2018, at Washington DC, US. This session brought together the CLIVAR EBUS RF members, staff in both US CLIVAR and International CLIVAR Project Office (remotely), as well as representative from US Agency.
It was the first meeting after the CLIVAR EBUS RF restructuring. Participants shared with each their research interests and potential contributions to the group; reviewed the EBUS prospectus, and shaped together the EBUS strategy as well as its workplan for 2019 and onwards. One of the major outputs of the meeting is the draft syllabus for the upcoming ‘ICTP-CLIVAR Summer School on Oceanic Eastern Boundary Upwelling Systems: Assessing and understanding their Changes and predicting their future’, which will take place from 15 to 21 July 2019 in Trieste, Italy.
There were also discussions on strengthening the cooperation and collaboration within CLIVAR and other international groups that are also interested in eastern boundary upwelling systems studies, i.e. the IOC and SCOR WG-155.
