The 15th Session of CLIVAR Pacific Region Panel (PRP-15) will be organized on 13th February 2023 at Melbourne, Australia and with virtual access available. The panel has not met in person in a long time since COVID.
A recent study led by Dr. Lijing Cheng, a member of the CLIVAR Global Synthesis and Observations Panel (GSOP), indicated that 2022 was another year of record heat for the oceans.
Dr. Antonietta Capotondi, member and former co-chair of the CLIVAR Pacific Region Panel (PRP), was elected as a PICES WG-49 ex officio member and co-chair, representing CLIVAR.
At the beginning of 2023, the CLIVAR Scientific Steering Group (SSG) experienced several changes in its membership.
ICTP/CLIVAR Summer School on Marine Heatwaves: Global Phenomena with Regional Impacts is scheduled for 24-29 July 2023, at Trieste, Italy and with virtual access.
CLIVAR was invited to join the Ocean Observing Co-Design Programme Supporter Forum on 13th December 2022.
The new CLIVAR Research Focus on 'Marine Heatwaves in the Global Ocean' was approved by CLIVAR SSG.
