Jennifer Riley joined the CLIVAR group as a staff scientists in January 2013 after recieving a BSc in Environmental Geoscience from the University of Edinburgh in 2008 and a PhD in Ocean Biogeochemistry from the University of Southampton in 2012. More specifically her PhD looked at carbon export from the suface into the mesopelagic ocean, which combined with her broad undergraduate background has provided her with a wide range of knowledge on ocean atmosphere interaction in both the past and present. During her PhD she has undertaken several inernational research cruises to the Arctic, Antarctic and North Atlantic and has experience of working both alongside academics in an editorial capacity and in a science communication capacity, writing and compiling scientific blogs for research cruises.
