The opening ceremony of the 10th UNESCO/IOC-RTRC-ODC training course and the 10-year anniversary celebration of the ODC center were successfully held in Qingdao of China

The opening ceremony of the tenth UNESCO/IOC-RTRC-ODC training course and the ten-year anniversary celebration of the ODC center were successfully held on 5th July 2021 at FIO (Qingdao), MNR, China, with a hybrid of online and in person format.

CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel organized the forth telecon in 2021

The forth regular telecon in 2021 of CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel (SORP) was held on 3rd June.

The co-chair Elisabeth Sikes, also a member of the Southern Ocean Task Force, she mentioned that now that SORP has officially been involved in the Southern Ocean UN Decade, it was encouraged for the SORP members to join in the process of its development. She would bring the comments and ideas to the Southern Ocean UN Decade.

The 2nd CLIVAR/GOOS Observation Workshop Organising Committee Telecon

The 2nd telecon of the Organising Committee of the CLIVAR/GOOS workshop titled ‘From global to coastal: Cultivating new solutions and partnerships for an enhanced Ocean Observing System in a decade of accelerating change’ was organised on 24 June 2021. The major outcomes from the telecon were:

CLIVAR at WCRP JSC-42

The 42nd Session of the WCRP Joint Scientific Committee meeting (JSC-42) is in progress. The meeting aims to take a number of important decisions, including the approval of the plans for the new Lighthouse Activities (LHA), the new ‘Core Projects’ on ESMO and RifS, ands progress with the current Core Projects, Grand Challenges (GC) and other major activities.
