Dr. Fousiya T. Shahul Hameed
Career Objective: To be a competent and a motivated researcher who is aware and
responsive to the dynamic changes of the world. Paticularly, I aspire to take part in the ongoing research problems and challenges in the field of Oceanography.
I hold Ph.D. in Atmospheric and Space Sciences from Savitribai Phule Pune University (work place:Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune, Maharashtra, India) attained in 2017. My areas of interest are Ocean Modeling, Ocean Dynamics and Air-sea interaction processes. Currently I work on a DST (Department of Science and Technology, India) project entitled“Simulating the Indian Summer Monsoon Climate Variability and its teleconnections during the Holocene”. I am very much interested in post doctoral opportunities and multi-disciplinary collaborations geared towards attaining my career objective.
My Ph.D. thesis provides a comprehensive study of the surface and subsurface processes in the Bay of Bengal (BoB) on seasonal and intra-seasonal timescales, from recent observations and ocean model (GDFL Modular Ocean Model version 5) sensitivity experiments.
Thesis Title: Seasonal and intra-seasonal variability of surface and sub-surface processes in the Bay of Bengal from Observations and Model
