Dr. Krishna AchutaRao

Krishna AchutaRao received his Ph.D from Tulane University. He subsequently worked in the Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Since 2007 he has been with the Centre for Atmospheric Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in India. Krishna's research interests span ocean heat uptake, variability of the coupled ocean-atmosphere system from ENSO to decadal and longer time-scales, climate model verification and diagnosis, regional impacts and detection & attribution of climate change.

Over 130 members of CLIVAR panels and guests gathered in The Hague this week (14-19 July) for the first-ever Pan-CLIVAR meeting.  The overall aims of the pan-CLIVAR meeting were to
