CLIVAR, CliC and SCAR activities in the Southern Ocean region will benefit greatly from coordination among the various countries and investigators involved. Key to the success of the efforts to coordinate plans will be a timely exchange of information.

The idea is that this webpage will contain a comprehensive inventory of ongoing and planned observational efforts in the Southern Ocean region, with a focus on climate related observations. There is also a companion website that concentrates on interdisciplinary observations.

If you are presently carrying out (or planning to carry out) climate related observations of relevance to the Southern Ocean region, whether for operational or research purposes (or have corrections to the list of projects and cruises), please email (m.sparrow@noc.soton.ac.uk) including the following information:

Type of observation (ocean, atmosphere, cryosphere etc.)
Location
Parameters measured
Contact person (including e-mail address)
Data availability (i.e. where the data will be stored and accessibility)
Additional information (e.g. brief summary, webpage etc.)
