Garcia | PATEX | The PATagonia EXperiment (PATEX) is designed (1) to investigate the environmental factors that control the occurrence of coccolithophore blooms; (2) to characterize the phytoplankton assemblage and primary production rates; (3) to determine the main nutrient levels and ratios associated with the bloom waters; (4) to determine their bio-optical characteristics; (5) to determine CO2 fluxes at sea-atmosphere. | PATEX III will take place in November 2005 | Data will be available from the Brazilian National Oceanographic Data Center (BNDO). |
